She likes it. Because it tried to eat somebody. Keela in a nutshell.
Some of you may have noticed by now that the site and the comic look a bit different these days. For one thing the comic is, obviously, a strip rather than a full page. This is partially due to the realization that anything is possible in the wonderful world of webcomics, where I’m beginning to notice that a comic’s format doesn’t necessarily have to be dictated by the amount of continuity it contains (mind=blown), and partially to the attitude that got me started doing this in the first place. (i.e. “Cool. I could do that.”)
I will admit, the change was also motivated in part by the fact that I don’t seem to currently possess whatever mojo it takes to create pleasing full-page panel layouts. So I was super excited to try out a different method, and I already feel better about it. Plus, I’m really hoping that this will be a huge aid in increasing my output and productivity. In fact, as of last week, Aether Incognita is now updating on both Monday and Thursday every week. That’s right! I’m totally stoked about this, you guys, and I hope you will be too. Happy New Year!
WOOHOO!!! Oh my goodness, I’m so excited. I figured out one of my website issues so all the comics should actually be displaying normally now. There are still some aesthetic issues, but they should be a bit easier to sort out (knock on wood). Just a bit of html and css fiddling. Just in time for today’s page to show up today.
*edit 3* ARGH!!! I may have taken a step backwards, things really aren’t showing up right at all at the moment and I’m not sure why. I’ve got to get some sleep before I go fiddling around with things any more or it’s sure to end up getting even worse. I’M SORRY EVERYONE, I’LL GET THIS ALL FIGURED OUT SOON I HOPE!
*edit 2* Still looking a bit weird around here, but I’m slowly getting things figured out I think. As previously mentioned I’ve upgraded my hosting account, which led to the ability to update wordpress to the newest version as well as update my plugins and stuff. The site still looks a bit creepy, but I’ve been focusing on fixing the bones of it before I go mucking about in the CSS. Everything should be in order for me to finally do that tonight, though, so keep your fingers crossed!
*edit* Ok, things are still a little wonky, but at least all the comics ought to be showing up correctly now. I’ll be working on the site some more over the next week or two, but right now I’m waiting for my hosting upgrade to take effect. Hopefully, that will help me fix some of the issues. Phew!
Sorry everyone! I was trying to change a few things behind the scenes to make the site easier to run, but it wound up just borking up the site. I’m in the process of fixing it all, so bear with me for a bit ok? I’ll post an update when I get things figured out. Thanks!
Hi everyone, sorry about the delay this week. PAX was amazing, but it took a bit more out of this poor introverted cartoonist than I had reckoned on. I didn’t quite manage to get the next page done before I left for Seattle, as you could probably tell if you stopped in on Monday, and by the time I got back I needed a bit of recovery time. In order to make it up to you, however, I have a special con-themed update planned for later today. Then we’ll be back on track with the next page of Stowaway on next Monday. See you soon!
Yes, all these things really happened mostly as depicted here. The eyeglass trio included myself (the female), TDH (the tall one), and my brother Ben (b-boy and video game programmer). This is just a small bit of the awesome-sauce that was in evidence at PAX, you guys. I highly recommend attending if you enjoy gaming at all. 3 days of demos, cosplayers, vendors, swag, and nerd celebrities, how can you go wrong with that? Answer: you can’t. It’s a cocktail made of pure win.
(Also, in case you can’t tell from my crappy drawing of it, that’s the Space Needle in the last panel. It’s very high. VERY. HIGH.)
